Penalties Incurred by Failure to Mark the Ball
Failure to mark the ball prior to removing it incurs a 1-stroke penalty. If it is replaced in a wrong position and you putt from that wrong position, that incurs a 2-stroke penalty. There are many rules regarding this which you should know. But you can by far remember to mark the ball before removing it and replace it always in the correct position.
